It could be a result of the bug with "Mod->Force Default Models" checkbox.
After client restart it is always unchecked, even if the setting in "UnrealTournament.ini" is:

In my (write protected) "UnrealTournament.ini" I set the entry as follows

[MultiMesh.multimeshmenu]
bForceDefaultMesh=false
