How To Install Custom Skins/Voices

Post by Battsy »

This is something that I struggled with for a little while... Hopefully it will help some of you out there figure out how to do it.

The following video walks you through a step by step process as to how you can install custom UT99 skins/voices:

Thanks!

But:
winrar evaluation copy

If you use 7zip, you don't have licence violation.

I tried both WinRAR and 7zip
- WinRAR is very good, but once the evaluation period expires it becomes virtually unusable with all the registration spam and pop-ups.
- 7zip is free, but has an horrible UI, and lacks some features of WinRAR; it feels like you're using a software from the mid 90s

I'd suggest using BandiZip in place of the above solutions.

By the way, since some people have problems installing skins/voices in UMOD format, I suggest using this tool, and proceed with manual installation.
Unreal Tournament UMOD Extractor v2.0
-------------------------------------

This tool allows you to extract files from an UMOD file containing Unreal Tournament packages and files.

* UMODExtractor.exe is an independent tool

* UMODExtractorCM.dll is a context menu shell extension that adds
an extract menu option to shell context menu of umod files.
To Install this shell extension you have to put the dll in some
directory in your path (the Windows directory for example) and
execute the UMODextractorCM.reg file to add some registry entries.
If you already have an old version installed, close all file explorer
windows and update the DLL using COPY from a command prompt window
(DOS shell).
